You might possibly have heard I had a birthday recently. Sure enough, some of you went out of your way to wish me well! And I received some very nice gifts, and one I’d especially like to share with you is this… fan art of Jack and Tomie’s first moment of spiritual contact!

It’s actually pretty rare that Zebra Girl gets fan art (and I still intend to rebuild the gallery at some point), so it’s always a special occasion for me, but this happened to be courtesy of a fellow artist whose work I’ve always respected, and who claims the feeling is mutual. I’ll eagerly encourage you to dig through his body of work!

Speaking of digging through bodies, all you zombies have fun this Halloween. Alright?

Hey Joe, your link to the fanart isn't working. It's just appending the URL to the end of the zebragirl website domain, so like "http://www.zebragirl.thecomicseries.com/mitch's-awesome-fanart"

It's because you have the href url in double quotes. I got rid of one of the sets and it redirected just fine after that.

I noticed. It should be working now, try it again and let me know if it still isn't working for you.

Mr. Casual

This guy doesn't seem like one of the regulars around here. Doesn't look like he has vampire fangs. Wonder what his deal is.

Also, happy birthday, Joe!

Not a vampire. That would be breaking the "Can't come in unless invited" rule. Still, looks like he doesn't *need* to be a vampire to chuck people out of windows.

And Happy Birthday, Joe. I hope it was fun, or at least interesting.

I think he's definitely a vampire. Maybe he's from another clan. But he's been a background character for a bit, and he's not the first vamp we've seen with pointy ears.

Now...ahem. AMG NO JACK AND TOMIE FELL OUT THE WINDOW, and SAM ISN'T SUPER STONG (how's he gonna make it!?).

Maybe he has a heretofore undiagnosed but crippling allergy to hasenpfeffer?

He got in with out a invite or were they stupid and left a Welcome mat out?

Vampires only need permission to enter is someone lives there. Ghosts aren't alive.

Hsssspeach impediment?

So, special vampire who can enter places? Throw people outside so the other vamps can get them? Looking forward to the next one.

Few things can be quite as dishearthening as that casual block in the last panel.

Just a minor nitpick on the art: The 5th panel is a bit hard to parse.
I think it shows him having thrown Jack & Tomie.
But my brain keeps interpreting "he was pushed/shoved back against the wall". As if jack/tomie pushed themself off him, wich makes little sense.

From the context of the previous panels, it looks to me like he grabs Jack, they tussle as Jack resists, and then he throws Jack.
As for whether he was intending to throw Jack out the window? By his expression in panel 7, I would say that he might not have INTENDED to let gravity get the kill, but he doesn't mind claiming credit for the assist. (Joke's on him when Jack comes flying back up, after. As it looks like Sam could use some flying backup.)

Universal Translator On: "Hsss!" (Seriously, this place isn't safe!)

"Hahsss!" (Quickly, out through the window!)

"Hssss. Hss." (It's hard to be a good guy undead with a speech impediment. I even sparkle in daylight.)

I just remembered that Sam's gloves are a religious symbol. I wonder if he can use them against vampires?

Or maybe, Discworld-like, vampires are only affected by religious symbols that they recognize, so Sam'll have to sit the vamps down and explain cartoon-animal-world theology to them, all, "... and so you see, the white gloves with the three hash marks on the back are a symbol of my religion, so they should burn you like a crucifix when I punch you like this."

Don't you just hate it when you follow a webcomic through RSS and at some point you think "dang, been a while since I saw any new XYZ" and check the website... only to find that the RSS link you use is dead, there's a new one, and nobody told you? :P

So, guess I'll have to dig into the archives, see where there's something I recognize, then read again from there. Ah well, at least I'll have some entertainment for a lazy afternoon^^

(seriously though, please dear webcomic authors, remember to tell your readers before changing the RSS link^^)

My apologies. I never actually changed it, just sort of let the old one expire. RSS is just one of those things I never keep up with. But you're right, I should clearly point out where the current one is.
