Considering that this comic has classic American cartoon roots and a friggin cartoon rabbit, my new headcanon is that Zebra Girl takes place in the future of Scooby Doo canon. The Mystery Machine became a fabled guild of demon hunters, with a powerful dog Ancient at the forefront.
The Scooby Doo cartoon is just a reimagining of their tales from a non-magic, commercial perspective.
Becky is the fallen Velma, having forgotten hrr past long ago.
