Yeah, it seemed like it'd been too long since something exciting happened.
Showing my age with a Remington Steele quote: "Because we were kissing! Someone's ALWAYS shooting at us when we're kissing!"
...they didn't know to stay out of line of sight of windows when being targeted???
Betty dancing was exciting. Could use some more of that...
Hmm. I'm now wondering if this world has actual Sam Sprinkles theme parks.
Yup. Personally, I like to think that this vampire is fairly new and is operating on the "well, this is what vampires do in the movies" principle. :)
So sorry; that reply went to the comment above the one I meant it to.
Why do they always go for hissing first? Rip out a throat, then hiss. Dramatic posturing over dead people is just as satisfying and less likely to result in giving them time to react.
It's as if some narrative force is trying to keep these people alive or something.
That looks like Walter.
He doesn't look angry so much as worried. He's probably about to put his rotting neck on the line again to help these ungrateful misfits out of a jam.
Could be defensive posture? Maybe the hiss is the involuntary "Keep away" noise... he just burst through a window, he expects to be attacked in return.
But maybe... he's on their side? Emergency-type warning of an imminent attack?
Crossing fingers...
Like Chandler says, if the plot's slowing down, have a ghoul burst through the window.
If someone going OUT through a window is defenestration, what is the word for someone going IN through a window?
That would be "infenestration": but, technically, since he's going *through* the window itself (rather than in or out of it), it should be "transfenestration". 7@=Q
(Read Thomas Pynchon's "Vineland" for details)
BTW, that first ghost's expression amuses me:
"Um, isn't there something else you should be doing, instead of farting around on your phone?" 7@=Q
Tomie looks like she's been drugged. I guess she... uh, hasn't learned how humans act startled yet?
She's not getting a bad feeling, Jack is. The trouble hasn't happened yet at that panel, so she isn't startled.
And this is what Sam's saying in the last panel:

For some strange reason I'm suddenly feeling nostalgic for the ol' "Joe Does Something" animations.
Is that.... Is that that Nosferatu-looking vampire that's been a background character?
For example, here, in panel 4?

Can I just say that I love your use of the vampires? It's nice to see them in the background, and then just pop up and do something more plot relevant. Just like the vamp that spoke to Walter earlier on is the same one that bit Tomie in the neck. It makes a lot of the vampires feel like than just throwaway background characters.
Though I understand they've taken to interpreting "welcome" mats as invitations...
Gotta love how chill everyone is despite the situation. Just another day.
Here's an idea for a new character.
Tomie was originally a book, so her text in her clothes is set. I would like to see Jack create someone out of a newspaper. The text in his outfit would have headlines that change to describe ongoing plot events. "Vampires Attack Miscellaneous. Local Sorcerer Seeks Solution."
well, here I am again, I hadn't read your comic since Sandra had started to terrorize city folks (sorry for stopping, the hiatus kind of made me drop, thinking the comic was dead, sorry for giving up) and here I am back, learning you kept the good work.
Surely, I thought to myself, with all this archive to read in all those years I haven't read, I will reach the point where Sandra is back to her senses and has make up with her old friends. No need to to wait for update anymore, I thought.
Welp, I guess the joke is on me, I'll have to be patient and keep following the story, at least it seems we are getting closer to that conclusion, however it might turn, if I am not mistaken.
Eitherways, it was a great ride. O moved Zandra's jouney and you have ma back hooked up. thanks.
Just to be sure, you still update on Firday, right?
(also, what happened to the cast page? it used to have this need feature where it changed when you passed your mouse over, now all you have is a link to tvtrope page, which is a bit bland. Any chance the old cast page might be restored, especially as you now have an alt for Tomie too.)
again, thanks for not giving up on the comic. I love it.
"Eitherways, it was a great ride. O moved Zandra's jouney and you have ma back hooked up. thanks."
My brain spazzed, sorry, wanted to wrote
"Eitherways, it was a great ride. O really loved Zandra's jouney in dreamland and you have me back hooked up. thanks."
Glad to have you back! The updates usually occur on Saturdays now, and the Cast page... well, I moved the site recently, and that's just one of the things I have to finish re-building.
I like how Sam thinks. Sam themepark trolling would be the best thing ever.
