Sorry for keeping you waiting today folks, but the fact of the matter is that my backlog is exhausted and I'm back to updating by the skin of my teeth. I'll have to see how long I can keep this up, but Monday's update probably won't be quite timely, either!

Speaking for myself (well, who else would I be speaking for? :P ), I wouldn't mind going back to the previous update schedule.
This is the end of the line for your creation (suppossedly). I, for one, wouldn't want you to feel an obligation to rush it because of a schedule. I'd rather you took you time about it and took real pleasure in it, just as we're taking real pleasure from every page you ink. I don't think your last memories of inking Zebra Girl should be memories of rushing to meet a deadline.
Unless, of course, the current schedule makes you focus and stops you procrastinating forever so that ZG doesn't have to end. In which case, well, get back to work ya lazy bum!
I think these words speak for me, at the very least. Going by the other comments, for quite a few other readers as well.
Yes, agreed. I've seen too many wonderful amazing works that had their endings ruined due to a rush-job in the final chapter. If you need to take your time to finish this the right way, then do so. No one will hold that against you.
I agree with Peter. Take your time. Zebra Girl fans have always been willing to wait for the next page cause they knew it was worth it. There's no need to push into overgear just cause the end is in sight. Not like this is a race or something.
That line about the books made me giggle like a madman. You cheeky cunt :D
I thought this was Tomie saying her time was up and that she had to go to "be lost until she is found again." So she never left him?
Oh man, I just live these characters. Plus, that little joke with the books made me smile. Thanks!
It just occurred to me that those books are likely their way of reproducing. TMI, Zandra! Too far!
I had the same idea about books being the chilren of a book and a mage.
Take your time, It has been a long and wonderful ride, it'sok to go slow to the end.
Thank you for bringing us. =)
Unless I miss my guess, I think that we've found out who the 3rd of the three eves is.
Three eves?... Am I missing something? I'm missing something. What am I missing?
So, Zandra, Mary and Tomie. Three Eves of three new races. Love when little things come back in a big way later on.
It's just adorable that Tomie and Jack created multiple self-aware books - essentially their children.
try and get some rest Joe... Thank you for your wonderful book!
I'm curious, Joe. Considering how we learn and develop over time, do you think the story would have come out and resolved differently if you had always kept to an even schedule, without the messes and occasional long hiatuses?
I think I'm glad for the all delays if this is the result. Even if it would have come out the same, I'm still glad you did what was needed in your life - taking care of yourself, doing the things that have to be done, etc - which allowed any of this to happen at all.
I don't know if anyone has posted this in a previous thread or not, but if so I am repeating it. The world needs a Kickstarter for a hard cover Zebra Girl Series book. *starts encouraging people to pelt Joe with money until this happens*
Bloody hell, Joe. Now you've got me wondering about the gestation period for a human/book hybrid. Thanks for that. :p xD
Look at all those empty book shelves waiting to be filled. What a considerate house!
Wait, so... so Jack and Tomie got together and created books? A human wizard and a magical book exchanged information for the purpose of synthesizing ideas, thus producing a new work of literature that hadn't existed before? They made book babies! I love it!
