Chag Sameach! As I understand it, that's the proper greeting for Shavuot. I'm trying not to miss any holidays or occasions as I wind the comic down. It seems important somehow.
But... wait. Who is that girl? Do we have time for new characters??
-Joe
Yes, Mike eventually decided to adopt a feminine name.
Yeah, that one took me a sec to figure out too.
So is Michelle the girl's aunt/father? haha.
After all the moments she used her tail in violence, it's heartening to see it used softly and with affection. This is a lovely page.
I just realized that a gentle tail carress is replacement for a peck on the cheek because Zandra's saliva would burn a hole in her face <shudders>
This page is really sweet. After everything that's happened, it is very nice that Zandra has a chance to settle down and be happy.
wait a sec, does that outfit show *gasp* butt cleavage?
Looking at it from behind it sort of looks like it...
Edit: nvm - it has a sort of long skirt or something but it's hard to tell which part is her skin and which is the dress from the waist up.
aaah this page is beautiful and very sweet!
zandra's dress looks kind of like it has a flower theme, which is nice.
Good one! I'd forgotten about that! I think she must be.
Wait, hold on, this isn't Mike and Zandra's kid, is it? Because we know that Mike and Zandra did sleep together. And if so, this raises the questions of the reproductive capacities of a species that's technically dead and a species whose every bodily fluid is acidic.
This is quite sweet, and I'm terribly curious just whom this little girl is. Daughter? Descendant of Crystal? Adopted daughter? Mr Chalk trolling Zandra? Pro We'll find out soon, I'm sure. Not much more time left for it, after all.
And the kid asks the big question that we've all been waiting for. Personally, I'm hoping for a somewhat happy ending, but I think it'll be bittersweet. Like Zandra visited her again, but not till she was on her deathbed or something.
...'fess up, this is the Girl Who Woke Up On the Wrong Side, isn't it?
It totally is her... Didn't fully realize it till now.
The who? I'm racking my brains trying to think of a reference from the comic, is this from something else? Gives me a vague Neil Gaiman vibe...
Also Auntie Michelle, lol.
I believe they're referring to Mina (nee Emily) Cringe, the star of a story concept I came up with years ago (and the basis for Crystal's own book). Though I'm afraid that the resemblance is actually coincidental.
I swear, I keep assuming this comic hit the last & final page & then there is more to come... Well, let's a go see how far this lovely story goes. :3
Ohhh, I see what you did there.
So you tease dragons,
but get delayed with family politics...
“They dragons are coming”
right George R.R. Martin? ;p
Indeed, in the whole epiloge I always wondered if we were going to find out about her mom.
Did I misss chalk closure?? Closure Mr. Chalk?
Is chalk still a word??
There was none. I think Mr. Chalk will remain a mystery.
I find it a bit odd that she'd be discussing her attraction to Crystal with someone who might know her as Wally's wife and an adult figure. No, I imagine this is late enough after that that is no longer an issue ie decades later.
Well there's the woman on Star Trek using the name Michael so I guess all names are feminine now.
I find it interesting that she says Aunt Michelle, but Jack and Wally are both just Jack and Wally. If it was only one of them, I could chalk it up to them being the kid's father, but with both of them lacking a title I'm beginning to bet she's either never met them or they didn't have a large role in her life.
Actually, come to think of it, with how Zandra's been talking, this could be pretty far into the future. The other's might simply not be around any more.
She uses past tense when talking about Crystal so she probably died and without her the rest probably drifted apart though they are probably all alive since werewolves and wizards live forever or close to that. oh not sure how long bunny people from another reality live though or book ladies.
And there it is. I’m really glad you’re wrapping this point up. It’s the one that has nagged at me for as long as I’ve read this comic, and that’s been nearly since day 1!). Going to be hard not to get emotional once I read the last strip. It’s been a wonderful ride.
I'm pretty sure that's totally-not-Alice, who we were told was coming back at some point: http://www.zebragirl.thecomicseries.com/comics/595
her design reminds me of doyenne.
it's probably nothing.
